Took over a month to get my MRI results and only after I contacted the hospital to ask if they had been reviewed, I would have probably got them quicker on NHS, that said Mr Khan was ok, he get a couple of things mixed up, the pain and numbness was on my right side but he kept referring to the left then correcting himself, on both occasions he was running late on apt but I guess that means he's very thorough which he was, I would definatly recommend him as her was professional and empathetic.

Response from Mr Almas Khan

Thanks for the feedback- it's useful to find where I can improve the service I provide. I do apologise about the delay in getting your private MRI results- I'm not sure how this occurred, as usually once scans are booked and my secretary informed of the date, she books an appointment in the following week, if not sooner if the reports are available. Occasionally, when scans need to be transferred from other hospitals, we are at the mercy of those hospitals' imaging departments to send the images through to our hospital, and this has taken several goes on some occasions, and is a manual, rather than an automated process. If this is what happened, I do apologise again on their behalf. Due to information governance, patient confidentiality and security issues, transferring data securely between different hospitals is not always straightforward. I am conscious about my clinics running late- all my patients are allocated an equal amount of time on the booking system, but I do have a very varied spine practice and some consultations by their nature are very complex. This is not always apparent from the referral letter, especially if this arrives with the patient, rather than in advance. I will look into increasing the amount of time allocated per appointment to help reduce this, however please accept my apologies in advance if anyone else is affected by previous appointments overrunning. Many thanks for your useful feedback, and thank you for the recommendation as well.

Mr Khan performed a multi-level spinal fusion in May 2015. At every visit he explained the procedure in great detail to me and gave me time to digest the information and ask questions. He told me the best scenario and the worst but was confident that all would go well. He inspired me with confidence to go ahead with the procedure. He arranged MRI's and x-rays to give the best possible views of the degeneration of the spine. The after care in LGI was good and after 2 weeks I was allowed home. It is now 4 months after the operation and have been to see him twice, following x-ray. As he is quite pleased with my progress My next appointment will be in another 4 months. He stressed that if I have any problems I should not hesitate to contact him.

After many years of neck/ back pain and numerous visits to physio, in May 2015 Mr Khan diagnosed my condition which resulted in him performing an Anterior Cervical Decompression and Fusion operation. Never being through anything like this before I have to say Mr Khan from start to finish was brilliant. I don't often write feedback but I felt in this case I needed to as it was a very stressful time for me and hopefully what I write here will help people like myself thru the process, but more importantly how you can rely on Mr Khan 110%. Mr Khan performed the surgery, which was very successful I hasten to say, but as a patient I could not see it being performed so I can only comment on the before and after bits. Mr Khan thru diagnosis and the time leading up to the operation had a manner which puts you at ease, very factual but practical in his dialogue and had a very friendly manner time putting me at ease. I had many many questions after doing some research on "Doctor Google" and Mr Khan was very patient and answered all my questions. Straight after the operation again Mr Khan was very professional and extremely friendly and reassuring, he followed up as promised to inform my wife and put her mind at rest. The following day he kept me appraised of everything going on, next steps, does and don'ts etc. I would recommend Mr Khan without hesitation and I will finish my feedback with an example why. His skills are a given, what I felt put Mr Khan in a different league was that I needed an X-Ray before I could be discharged. Mr Khan did his planned paper work in a corridor so he could be available when the X-Ray came back rather than postponing my release by 5 hours; that's what I call putting the patient first!

Mr Khan had a pleasant manner and I did not feel that the consultation was rushed. He listened carefully and answered all my questions fully.
